Cycle Training UK is offering free cycling activities for the residents, students and workers of Ealing
The days are getting noticeably longer, the snowdrops are out, soon we’ll see crocuses and daffodils and it will get warmer.
To celebrate spring, Ealing Council and Cycle Training UK are organising lots of free cycling activities for people who live, study or work in the borough.
Over the coming weeks there will be group training for adults and families, Dr Bike cycle checks across the borough and 100 individual cycling lessons available. And it’s all free thanks to the support of Ealing Council.
Sunday Adult Cycling Drop-in Sessions
Sunday Cycling Sessions are a drop in group riding lesson for adults that will meet in Gunnersbury Park during February and March.
The Sunday Cycling Session aims to help adults improve their riding confidence. Groups will ride in the park and on the roads depending on their abilities.
The Sunday Adult Cycling Drop-in Session times and dates are:
Sunday 11 March - 10am-12.30pm or 1pm-3.30pm
Sunday 25 March - 10am-12.30pm or 1pm-3.30pm
There’s no need to book, just come along to the old tennis courts (MAP HERE) at Gunnersbury Park. There will be a limited number of bikes available to borrow, if you’d like to use one please call 0207 231 6005.
Riding together as a family can be fun and rewarding. A Family Training session helps get everyone in the family riding confidently and you’ll pick up really useful tips about riding as a group that will reduce the stress and worry about cycling together. Groups will ride in the park and on the roads depending on their abilities. Soon you’ll be riding everywhere as a family!
The Family Training sessions are in Gunnersbury Park on Wednesdays and Southall Park on Thursdays on the folllowing dates & times are:
Wednesday 4 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)
Thursday 5 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)
Wednesday 11 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)
Thursday 12 April - - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11
There’s no need to book, just roll up nice and early!
Individual Cycling Lessons
Cycle Training UK has 100 FREE Cycling Lessons available this Spring for residents, students and workers in Ealing.
As the lessons are one to one, it doesn’t matter what your cycling skill level is, the lesson will be designed around you. So whether you want to learn to ride a bike, you want to ride again after a break of several years, you ride but want more confidence or you’re a cycling commuter who wants to hone their skills, there’s a lesson for you.

Visit Dr Bike in Ealing
In Ealing, you can also get your bicycle ready for Spring by visiting one of the many free Dr Bike sessions across the borough. Whether Ealing residents, students or workers just want their bike checked over, or tyres pumped up, brakes or gears adjusted, a niggling problem looked into or would like to chat to someone about cycling, they can pop along to one of Cycle Training UK’s Dr Bike sessions.
The Dr Bike sessions are free and there’s no need to book, just roll along.
