Cycle Training UK will be providing free cycling courses to Blue Bermondsey BID Members
Thanks to funding from The Blue Bermondsey Business Improvement District (BID), Cycle Training UK can offer Free Cycle Training and Free Cycle Maintenance Courses to employees of member businesses.
FREE Cycle Skills Session
Employees who work for a member of the Blue Bermondsey BID can have up to two hours of Cycle Skills Training with a CTUK experienced and qualified instructor. The Cycle Skills Session is a one to one session, so designed around each individual rider, whether a complete beginner or a seasoned cycle commuter. To find out more and to Book click HERE.
FREE Cycle Maintenance Courses
As well as cycling skills courses, Blue Bermondsey is also funding Maintenance Courses for BID members. There are three one day courses available:
Introductory Maintenance for the complete bike mechanic beginner. A great foundation course covering the basics including, an introduction to tools, adjusting your bike, preventative care, fixing a puncture and adjusting brake blocks. To find out more and to Book click HERE.
Basic Maintenance for those who are a little more confident tinkering with their bike. With this one day in the workshop, riders work on their own bike changing brake blocks, indexing gears and splitting a chain. To find out more and to Book click HERE.
Brompton - A course specifically for the classic folding bike that includes the much-dreaded but actually quite easy rear wheel removal! To find out more and to Book click HERE.
Dr Bike in Blue Bermondsey
Blue Bermondsey is also funding Dr Bikes Clinics providing FREE bike checks at The Biscuit Factory 12-4pm on the last Wednesday of the month. The next three are:
Wednesday 27 June 2018
Wednesday 25 July 2018
Wednesday 29 August
Thanks to the generosity of Blue Bermondsey it is hoped that more people will cycle, making the Business Improvement District an even nicer place to work.

CTUK is a not-for-profit workers’ co-operative with company ownership shared equally across all Members. This means that we re-invest our funds into the business rather than pay dividends to Directors and that there is a high level of conscientiousness due to the very real companywide understanding that the company belongs to everyone. This results in all the benefits that pride and the identification of a company as one’s own brings; in particular excellent delivery. Our Instructors
Everyone employed by Cycle Training UK is a qualified cycling instructor and the instructors are Members of the cooperative. Our instructors are committed, experienced and highly trained with additional appropriate qualifications. All Cycle Training UK Instructors have an Enhanced DBS Check and hold a current First Aid Certificate. All our instructors’ activities are fully insured and Cycle Training UK has £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.
Our instructors’ knowledge & experience is why CTUK is so actively involved with the development of the National Standards for Cycle Training and the Bikeability syllabus. It is why we are the third largest Instructor Trainer Organisation in the UK. It is why we are consulted by countries around the world establishing cycle training schemes.
