Ealing offers a range of cycle training, social rides and maintenance activities for every level of cyclist in the borough.

NEW! FREE Sunday Adult Cycling Drop-in Sessions

The Sunday Cycling Sessions are drop in group lessons for adults that will meet in Gunnersbury Park during February and March.

The Sunday Cycling Sessions aims to help adults improve their riding confidence. Groups will ride in the park and on the roads depending on their abilities.

The Sunday Cycling Session times and dates are:

  • Sunday 25 February - 10am-12.30pm or 1pm-3.30pm
  • Sunday 11 March - 10am-12.30pm or 1pm-3.30pm
  • Sunday 25 March - 10am-12.30pm or 1pm-3.30pm

There’s no need to book, just come along to the tennis courts at Gunnersbury Park. There will be a limited number of bikes available to borrow on a first come first served basis.

FREE Family Training Drop-in Sessions

Riding together as a family can be fun and rewarding. A Family Training session helps get everyone in the family riding confidently and you’ll pick up really useful tips about riding as a group that will reduce the stress and worry about cycling together. Groups will ride in the park and on the roads depending on their abilities.  Soon you’ll be riding everywhere as a family!

The Family Training sessions are in Gunnersbury Park W3 on Wednesdays and Southall Park UB1 on Thursdays on the following dates & times:

  • Wednesday 4 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)
  • Thursday 5 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)
  • Wednesday 11 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)
  • Thursday 12 April - 10am-12pm (with children over 6) & 1pm-3.30pm (with children over 11)

Free 1:1 Cycle Training Lessons

Whether you're a first-time rider or a regular cyclist looking to improve your skills, we provide free, tailored courses to suit your individual abilities and goals.

You can have up to 2 hours of cycle training if you live, work or study in the borough. Suitable for complete beginners (minimum age 6) to seasoned commuters.

Sessions are free for adults, and children aged 6 and above.

Family training is available for children ages 6+ with parents/adults (this is a great opportunity for parents to take part!)

Basic cycle skills

Learn to cycle with a free session tailored to you. You'll practice in a safe, off-road environment with a fully qualified instructor. In a session you'll learn the basics, build skills and gain confidence to navigate around your local area.

Urban cycle skills

Improve your cycling skills and confidence with a free session tailored to you. You'll start in a safe, off-road environment to refresh your cycling technique and develop new skills before moving on to practice on quiet roads. Your qualified instructor will support you throughout to help you cycle more confidently.

Advanced cycle skills

Perfect your cycling techniques with free one-to-one session from a fully qualified trainer. Improve your performance when dealing with complex junctions, heavy traffic or cycling at night and receive assurance that you are cycling efficiently and effectively. Sessions are tailored to your needs and fully funded by TfL.

Visit Dr Bike in Ealing

In Ealing you can get your bicycle ready for Spring by visiting one of the many free Dr Bike sessions across the borough.  Whether Ealing residents, students or workers just want their bike checked over, or tyres pumped up, brakes or gears adjusted, a niggling problem looked into or would like to chat to someone about cycling, they can pop along to one of Cycle Training UK’s Dr Bike sessions.
