Cycle Training UK Ltd is recruiting fully qualified (NSIQ), experienced, cycling instructors on flexible hours contracts to deliver more cycle skills training over the summer, principally in the London Borough of Ealing, the City of London and from our headquarters in Bermondsey.
Cycle maintenance skills and recognized qualifications, such as City and Guilds Cycle Mechanics or Cytech, are also highly desirable qualities.
You will be a qualified National Standard Instructor, registered with an ITO, having at least 6 months cycle training experience in London and the South East.
Your ability to think on your feet, to manage risk dynamically in changing off- and on-road scenarios and to communicate calmly, clearly and assertively in English to a broad range of people are all essential requirements for the role.
You will have an excellent attitude to timekeeping, diary management and administrative tasks such as session feedback, paperwork and incident reporting.
You will be a keen cyclist, acting as a role model for trainee cyclists in London and having the ability to fluently communicate the benefits of cycling as a mode of transport.
This role is subject to holding a valid First Aid Qualification and an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
The deadline for applications is 10am Monday 16 April 2018. Apply NOW, as we reserve the right to close the application process earlier if we receive a large number of applications.
What is Silver Cycling?
We are looking for volunteers to take older people in Lambeth out for a ride to a park or on quiet roads, either in a rickshaw or on a side-by-side cycle. You will have an opportunity to chat with them, to exchange stories and to both have fun in the fresh air. You can do this at a time that suits you.
Silver Cycling is linked to the international Cycling Without Age project. It also has links to Lambeth’s Positive Spin project in that, where possible, we try and help people to be active and to get exercise on a cycle.
Where does Silver Cycling take place?
We are running the project from two Lambeth locations: Helmi House SW9 0BQ; and Royal Trinity Hospice SW4 0RN
We will be running a volunteer training session at Trinity Hospice — date to be confirmed.
We will offer first aid training if you require this, and ensure you are DBS checked
