Lambeth wins cycling award

December 07, 2009

Congratulations to Lambeth Council for winning The London Cycling Campaign’s 'Best Workplace Cycling Initiative' award for its awareness campaign for cyclists and drivers of HGVs.

We are proud to have designed and delivered Lambeth’s HGV Cycle Awareness training sessions. This training aims to reduce conflict and raise awareness between cyclists and HGV drivers. The training sessions take place every month in a local depot or area convenient to the drivers. Typically they involve a one hour interactive classroom session and then a 2 hour practical training lesson with CTUK instructors. Drivers can choose to sign-up for further practical cycle training in fact they can be trained to instructor level. For more information on our HGV Cycle Training please email jean@cycletraining.co.uk

CTUK women only maintenance class

Here is some feedback from the trainees on our first women only maintenance class on Saturday.

‘Amazing course’

‘Excellent course. The women only session had a great atmosphere’

‘All good and really useful. There was a good pupil/teacher ratio’

‘This course surpassed all expectations. Excellent supportive training. I feel much more confident about maintaining my bike safely’

If you’re a woman cyclist and you’re a bit nervous about tackling bike repairs (but fed up with spending money on maintenance), why not sign up to the next woman only class on Saturday 6th February 2010.
